The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and, by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviations from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. OKLAHOMA SPORTS PARK HAS THE OPTION TO BUY ANY CAR ENTERED IN DIVISION FOR $1250.00 MINUS ANY SAFETY EQUIPMENT (SEAT, BELTS, & FUEL CELL). IF YOU REFUSE TO SELL YOU WILL FORFEIT ALL WINNINGS FROM THAT EVENT AND BE SUSPENDED FROM THE DIVISION FOR ONE (1) YEAR; CAR & DRIVER. NO DICE ROLLING..... NO GAMES..... IF YOU CAN'T SELL IT FOR THAT MUCH YOU HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY INTO THIS GAME AND MAYBE IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO FIND A NEW GAME!!
SAFETY:
1. Helmets are required
2. Helmets must be worn at all times the car is on the track
3. SFI approved flame/fire retardant fire suits, gloves and shoes are recommended
4. An approved head/neck restraint system is recommended SFI rated neck collar
5. Seat belts and shoulder harness recommended not to be more than 3 years old
6. The date of manufacture should remain visible at all times
7. Seat belts and shoulder harnesses MANDATORY
8. NO FACTORY OEM SEATS
9. All belts must be a minimum of two (2) inches wide
10. Belts must be bolted to the roll cage with no less than 3/8 inch bolt
11. A center crotch belt must be securely mounted to the lower seat frame at the bottom and to the lap seat belt on the top
12. Where the belts pass through the seat edges, it must have a grommet installed, be rolled, and/or padded to prevent cutting of the belt
13. Window nets are mandatory
14. Windshield must have three (3) bars in front of driver & gasser
15. NO bolt on weight
16. Drive lines must be painted white
17. if battery is in the drivers compartment, it must be in an approved and secured battery box. If you box the interior, there must be a firewall between driver and battery
DRIVER:
1. Driver must be at least 16 years of age. Must have minor release signed by parent or legal guardian on file for any driver under the age of 18
BODY:
Any American made full body, rear wheel drive passenger car or pickup. No convertibles. Must have full metal roof (sunroofs, T-tops must be covered with metal)
1. Wheel base must be minimum 108 inches
2. Rear suspension must be OEM
3. Must have stock unaltered floor pan and firewall front to rear
4. No spoilers of any kind
5. Fender wells may be cut for clearance
6. Nerf bars are allowed but may not be stuck out more than 3 inches past the body of the car. Protecting the driver and passenger doors only.
7. All doors must be welded or bolted shut
8. Fiberglass hoods, Plastic nose pieces and skirting is OK
9. Must remove all glass, chrome, door handles, mirrors and flammable material
10. Boxing of interior is OK but must have inspection hole
11. must have minimum of 3 windshield bars in front of driver & gasser and must be at least 3/8" OD. Screening on bars is OK
12. Must have tow hooks on front and rear
13. Body must be in stock location and all steel. No aluminum bodies allowed
14. Left side driver controls steering and brake. Right side driver controls the throttle. Throttle to be on the far right side of drivers compartment. NO HAND THROTTLES
ENGINE:
1. Engine must be installed in stock location. Steel OEM V-8 block only. No GM Bowtie, Fort SVO or Mopar W-2 blocks, heads or intakes allowed
2. No GM Power pack heads. No double hump heads. OEM ONLY
3. Flat top pistons ONLY
4. No roller rocker arms. No roller tip rocker arms
5. Intake: Cast iron: Unaltered, approved OEM only
6. Must be a Hydraulic cam only, No solid or roller cams
STEERING:
1. Steering must be OEM
2. May have solid shaft steering column
3. No quick steer or sweet steer boxes
TRANSMISSION:
1. Must have OEM transmission, 11" flywheel, stock clutch. Functioning OEM torque converter. (No dummy torque converters and no altered torque converters of any kind). Coolers are ok, must be mounted in front of radiator. All forward and reverse gears must be operational.
2. Manual Transmissions:
A. Must have 10.5 inch clutch disc. Flywheel must weigh minimum of 16 lbs.
B. Must have steel or cast iron bell-housing with a recommended explosion proof blanket or shield. no aluminum bell housings allowed.
3. Automatic Transmissions:
A. Must be unaltered OEM, with unaltered pump
DRIVE SHAFT:
1. Drive shaft must be painted white and must have safety chain or driveshaft loop. Must be made of steel. no aluminum drive shafts.
FRONT SUSPENSION:
1. All components and mounts must be steel, unaltered OEM
2. OEM rubber A-frame bushing only
3. Cannot have any type spacer or weight adjuster on front suspension
SHOCKS:
1. One OEM or OEM replacement shock per wheel. NO RACING SHOCKS ALLOWED!!
There is a $30.00 claim per shock and claimee may claim one or all four. (We are trying to keep the expensive shocks out of this class and we encourage all competitors to exercise your claiming rights in order to help control this expensive advantage). In order to exercise your right to claim, you must be in and finish the A-Feature. when race is over, claimee must go to the tec2h area with the exact amount of CASH and present the cash to the tech official and tell him who and how many shocks they are claiming. Refusal to sell will result in loss winnings for that event.
SPRINGS:
1. One steel spring Only in OEM stock location. may run racing springs.
2. Adjustable shackles on front of leaf or coil springs. Stock location only!!
3. 2" maximum spacer in the rear springs and must be the same on both sides.
4. No adjustable spring spacers
5. leaf springs must have same height lowering blocks on both sides, 2 inch maximum
REAR ENDS:
1. Any OEM rear end ONLY. No floaters allowed
REAR SUSPENSION:
1. All components and mounts must be steel, unaltered, OEM in OEM location
2. OEM rubber control arm bushing only
3. No independent rear suspension allowed
4. No pan hard bars, spring rubbers, chains or cables allowed, Unless stock for that year, make and model
BUMPERS:
1. Must be approved OEM in OEM location. May have tube bumpers as long as they fit the car to OEM type bumpers
2. Bumpers must be capped on the ends with no sharp edges
3. No hidden weight allowed. All added weight must be visible
TIRES & WHEELS:
1. 8" steel wheels only
2. One inch lug nuts mandatory on all four wheels
3. No bleeder valves
4. Grooving of tires allowed
5. Any DOT street legal tire NO RACE TIRES HOOSIER OR AMERICAN RACER
BRAKES:
1. Steel, unaltered OEM or unaltered OEM replacement, operative on all four wheels. all four brakes must be in working order.
2. Master cylinder must be stock OEM and be in stock location
3. No brake shut off or bias adjusters allowed
4. Steel brake lines only. May drill flanges and rotors to take larger wheel studs
5. May run drum or disc brakes. Must be OEM same size as front.
EXHAUST:
Stock Exhaust Manifold
FUEL & FUEL SYSTEM:
1. Must run OEM mechanical push rod pump only
2. Carburetor any OEM; no double pumpers
3. Pump gas or racing fuel only. NO alcohol
WEIGHT:
Minimum 3500 after race with drivers. CHEVY 3800 AFTER RACE WITH DRIVERS!!
BATTERY AND IGNITION:
1. One 12 volt battery only. Must be mounted in an approved secure battery box if in the drivers compartment.
2. Must be stock type distributor. Must be vacuum advanced timing and must work off vacuum hook to intake only. must have OEM module, OEM coil and OEM cap. no billet parts or racing components allowed.
ROLL CAGE:
1. Minimum four-point cage, minimum size 1 1/2" O.D. by .095 wall thickness steel tubing.
2. Minimum three door bars in each side of cage. Door bars = minimum size 1 1/2" O.D. by .095 wall thickness steel tubing.
3. must have three (3) 3/8" bars in front of driver & gasser in windshield area. Rock screen in front of driver is highly recommended.
4. 1/8" thick steel plate on drivers door and under drivers seat mandatory.
